Sasha is a network of over 150 producer groups involving about 7000 artisans and marginalized producers – 80% of them women. In its 25 years of existence, it has organized and promoted the informal sector of artisans in the global market place.
Sasha seeks to emphasize development rather than profits. Their efforts to revive the traditions of various handicrafts by helping to make producer groups economically viable have been very successful. Sasha assists groups through their formative stages by helping them set up systems and teaching accounting and business procedure. Sasha also helps artisans evelop inherent skills and diversify the product range through research, design and technical development workshops.
