These cards are made using traditional Nepali paper crafting techniques using fibers from the Lokta tree and local organic dyes. A flowering poinsettia is printed on the front. The inside is left blank. Comes with matching envelope.
Bhaktapur Craft Printers (BCP) was founded in 1981 as part of a strategy for community development in Nepal through the production of hand-made, eco-friendly paper products. This organization has launched several community development programs, aiming specifically to improve the quality of life of the poor and underprivileged while enabling the artisans and their families to better their lives and revitalize the local economy.
BCP has 128 permanent staffers (all are share holders) in total, out of which 52% are women. All artisans participate in an extensive apprenticeship program and are entitled to continuing education courses to help them become more upwardly mobile in the job market.
